Internet, and so on....

It's amazing how much information internet can provide to anyone! https://sites.google.com/site/josueamengineering/

so, since I was laid off from employment, I started a lot of tasks, yes a lot! (including all the internet sites above) I started my own sole proprietor engineering company (to be incorporated), marketed my services, talked to friends that I've worked with prior (including ones that I used to work with and still works for same employer), built a working table in my garage, ordered testing equipment, signed up for volunteer teacher of engineering elective at St. Anthony's School, helped prepare and serve hot lunch at same school, volunteered as mentor for Central Valley Afterschool Foundation (canstruction.org), volunteered as mentor in ACE Mentor program, and have been coming to a Toastmasters club at Kaiser hospital. Oh, and I started working on paperwork for DBE.

Tia is confused

Yesterday, June 10th, during lunch at home, my older daughter says 'I'm so confused about life', with a half smile. So I asked her what in life are you confused about? She says, 'Everything'. "like what?' I say.
'I dont know', she says. So I said, ' you cant be confused then if you dont know, coz you have to know about something to start with if you are confused about something'. Okay, then she says ' what is global warming?' Mickey, her uncle tried to explain, which I didnt think Tia absorbed any of. And then she says, 'how do you get happiness?' And I said, ' I will write this down as the day you asked this question.' Then I pointed to the center of her chest and said, 'that's where happiness is'.
I felt a good vibe listening to her asking questions. I do hope she keeps asking herself, look for answers in the right places, and digest any answer she gets, whether answers from internet or Dad or Mom, and be able to figure out the right answer(s), soon(?). Unlikely. She's 11 yrs old.

Thanks to St. Anthony's School in Fresno

About 6 years ago, I was not convinced Tia should enroll in a Catholic School, specifically St. Anthony's. I was however persuaded by my wife to enroll Tia there. Six years later, Isa will be in 2nd grade in same school, and both girls are very happy. I got laid off last week which got us worried that we may have to pull the kids out of SAS. Tia and Isa were worried too. So Felise and I decided to meet with Mr. Neumeier to talk about financial assistance. After no more than 10 minutes, Mr. Neumeier has figured out how he and the school can assist us with tuition. And yes, he said 'don't worry', the kids can stay at SAS. To listen him say that was very assuring. Just very happy to belong to the SAS community.
